Sandakan Trip - Trip to "The Natural City"

Sandakan 
Sandakan was the former capital of British North Borneo from the years 1884-1946. Sandakan was one of the largest towns in Sabah in the early years with traders from Europe to Africa, from Arabia to China, from the Indies to Java and from local Dusuns to the Japanese. After WWII the capital was transferred to Jesselton (now Kota Kinabalu). In the early years, Sandakan served as a major port for early settlers to Sabah, and most Chinese came through this port. With the many Chinese from Canton, Sandakan once earned the nick-name of "Little Hong Kong". 
 
 
Sepilok OrangUtan Rehabilitation Centre
 The Rehabilitate Orangutan Centre. The site is 43 sq km of protected land at the edge of Kabili Sepilok Forest Reserve. Today around 60 to 80 orang utans are living free in the reserve. Here is the one of the place that represented Sandakan!!
 
 
  Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary
The proboscis monkey gets its name from its large and fleshy nose, and is endemic on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. The proboscis monkeys live almost exclusively in mangrove forests of Borneo, but can also be found in lowland rainforests and cannot be found anywhere else in the world other than Borneo except in zoo captivity. 


Sepilok Rainforest Discovery Centre
The RDC is a centre for environmental education situated within the famous Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve, home of the orang-utans of the Sepilok Orang-utan Rehabilitation Centre. Its primary function is to create public awareness and appreciation of the importance of conserving forests, as well as the sustainable use of forest resources.
 
 Puuh Jih Shih Buddhist Tample


Puu Jih Shih is pretty, new extravagant, and is likely built to awe. It is built in a grand scale, with giant undulating dragons, golden Buddha statues and can view whole Sandakan view. 

 Sandakan- The Seafood Heaven 
 That Sandakan's seafood can be consider as the most fresh, delicious and cheapest amount Malaysia. So having a  seafood dinner at Sandakan is the most important things!!!


Agop Batu Tulug

Batu Tulug is a 39 meters high limestone cliff and some formed Labang limestone aged 20 -25 million years. Agop means cave in "Orang Sungai" language. There are three main caves, the agop suriba (below) on the forest floor, lintaga (middle) and sawat (top) each with a height of 12-15 m.There are caves on the middle and at the top which contains more than 100 old carved wooden coffin 200-250 years old, guarded by bats and swifts. You can also see the village of Batu Putih from here.
 
 
Sabah- Gomantong Cave
Gomantong Cave described  by WWF as 'the best-managed edible birds' nest cave in the world', Gomantong Caves in the heartland of the Gomantong Rainforest Reserve have been the focus for birds' nests for centuries.

Station 1 ~ 'Kinabalu Park' ~

Kinabalu Park was covers an area of 750 square kilometers (300 square miles).  Two expeditions to explore is the mountain and its flora.

Station 5 ~ "War Memorial Park"
-Feelings The Tragedy-

 The War Memorial was built in the 1950s in memory of a tragic events during world war 2, which was called the Death March....
The Death March was about some two thousand of Australians and British civilians caught by the Japanese Army and were force to march from Sandakan to Ranau. A 265km walk through the virgin jungle of Borneo. Many of the Australians and British civilian died in this treacherous journey.

Stations 6 ~ "Tea Garden"
"Boh Tea" garden?? Nop!! is "Sabah Tea Garden"!!!


 The tea that produce by sabah tea garden was very famous for the western visitors..so..have you taste it before??

Station 7 ~ "Fish Village"
Get "SPA" at here!!! The small fish is not available...........all Big!!!!...


Wow it feel so itchy and you hardly can laugh...you got to try this special SPA!!!

Station 8 ~ "Fresh Vegetable Stall"
The most representative place for Kundasang!! 


 Never visit the stall, you cannot say you has leave your footprints on Kundasang!!
